Let’s Cleanup our neighborhood stream and Sparrow Pond!

Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 9am to 11am

Free gloves and trash bags will be distributed.  A short (10min) neighborly introduction and a safety briefing will start at 9am in the Abingdon Cul-de-Sac.

We pick up trash on the banks of the stream which unites South Arlington Forest and Barcroft, from Rt 50 to Sparrow Pond.  Get your volunteer hours, feel good about your work, send out your kids!  Bring a camera and post photos to the SolPlay Facebook site. Motivated by the 27th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup

Arlington Parks and Recreation is working to support the Alice Ferguson Foundation Potomac watershed cleanup efforts.  For additional information about what volunteers may expect, please visit: http://fergusonfoundation.org/trash-free-potomac-watershed-initiative/potomac-river-watershed-cleanup/volunteers/

Our streams connect us to our neighbors, other neighborhoods, to Four Mile Run, to the Potomac, Chesapeake Bay and beyond.

How long is Four Mile Run?  Want to take an urban hike and discover the origin and termination of Four Mile Run? A spring walk for all adventurous ages is being planned.  Let us know if you’re interested. (Email info@solplay.net)   - Thanks for joining us.
